Chocolate City on a legal mission against Brymo

Oh OK, now I see the reason for Brymo's tweets yesterday. He literally can't work as an artist until he sorts himself out with Choc City. Apparently his former record label Chocolate City through their law firm, L & A legal Consultants on Monday October 21st got an injunction against him, 'restraining him from recording, releasing, distributing any composition, song, musical works or carrying out any activity as a recording or performing artist through or for the benefit of any person or organisation other than Chocolate City pending the determination of the suit against him.

Chocolate City says Brymo's contract remains valid until 2016. Brymo is too talented not to work... please y'all should sort this out!

Is AMAA Bias? Or Is it the Yoruba Movie Productions that is Too Weak to bag Nominations?

Following the announcement of nominees for the 2013 most prestigious award for movie makers, African Movie Academy Awards, AMAA, the nominations have been receiving various reactions. The event which took place in Malawi and was well attended by movie practitioners is adjudge the best movie award in this part of the world.
One of the major reaction received is from the Yoruba movie caucus, these emanated from the fact that no single Yoruba Movie received an AMAA Nominations this year.

The Yoruba Speaking angle of Nollywood were all not happy about the development thinking and believing that they are also equal to the task as some of their english speaking movie making colleagues were given various nominations, putting resources together for a movie production is not an easy task and the Yoruba Movie Producers believe they are trying their best possible in churning out great piece work of art too.

Talking to one of the Yoruba movie producer Seun Olaiya about the scenario, he said: To the AMAA organizers, i think this is a bias and sentimental act to imagine that of all the Yoruba films submitted none is being considered as good enough for nominations, this to me is so bad and discouraging, i want to say that its discriminatory and unfair. I Seun Olaiya challenge the AMAA organizers that the Yoruba film makers have been cheated and AMAA 2013 nominations is prejudiced and one-sided.

To all numerous fans of African Movies do you think AMAA is bias or is its the Yoruba Movie Productions that are too weak to make the nomination lists?, your opinion and comments will be well appreciated.

VIDEO: ‘Chop My Money’ – Psquare Feat Akon, May D

We’ve heard the original version off their Invasion album and we love it, well the remix is just as good! Psquare at times look like they can’t do any wrong with their songs (even though we constantly accuse them of sound biting!).
Their recent romance with Konvict Music boss Akon seems to be paying off. When photos from the video shoot of this same song hit the web, it only created more anticipation for  the ‘Chop my money’ remix.
The remix which also features Square Record newbie May D has that tingly feel and blended with Akon’s ever melodic crooning, we can say this is another hit!
The video directed by Jude Okoye and Ben Marc is quite interesting – telling a tale of a temptress who dazzles all four guys as she ‘chops’ their money and dumps them.

'Omo To Shan' - Olamide ft Whizkid

In less than 2 years, young rapper oLamide, has gained attention with just one single ‘Eni duro’ which was accompanied by a very creative video and subsequently, his debut album ‘Rapsodi‘.
While most of the other ‘Yoruba-lingo’ speaking rappers were struggling to outclass the late Dagrin‘s style, oLamide took on another lane and distinguished himself. His debut single and video played a major role in creating an image for himself. Props should also go to DJ Tee for the brilliant video directing in ‘Eni duro‘.
But if the Coded Tunes rapper thought he could relive the experience once again with the video to ‘Omo to shan’ which features Wizkid, then he should hold video director DJ Tee responsible for killing any possible chance. ‘Omo to shan‘ could have been the next big hit if only DJ Tee hadn’t bungled it.
The video to the second single lacks direction and concept. One would wonder what was going through DJ Tee’s mind when he was shooting the video. The story starts out right from the beginning then takes a sharp left in the lane of mediocrity. Make up – poor, camera handling – poor. A ‘Tales By Moonlight‘ episode would win an award over this.

HOW ODUNLADE ADEKOLA LOST MULTIMILLION NAIRA MOVIE DEAL

Strong rumour that is spreading recently has it that the veteran Yoruba Actor cum Movie producer has just lost the job that could earn him millions of naira due to his deficiency in English Language.
According to the jist, a London big boy was reported to have called Odun to discuss a business deal with him, but the inability of SUNDAY DAGBORU to comprehend with the guys Queen’s English made him told the guy in Pidgin English that he could not understand what he was saying and hang up the call, this made the London Big Boy lose focus on him.

From what we can deduce, the job was the production of a Blockbuster movie, but Mr Odunlade Adekola lost the opportunity. But the question is ARE YOU SAYING THAT ODUNLADE ADEKOLA CAN NOT COMMUNICATE IN AT LEAST BASIC ENGLISH????????????????????
Note: don’t hold us for this as it is a STRONG RUMOUR……..

ARAMOTU MOVIE FINALLY STORMS SILVERBIRD CINEMA.

Aramotu the much talk about movie that was shown at LTV 8 Cinema on Easter Monday has finally hit Silverbird cinema. For those that have watched the movie at different times and cinemas across the country has confirmed that “ARAMOTU” is a movie to behold is full of suspense and intrigue, different Yoruba movie actors again showcased the stuff they were made of, the likes of Peter Fatomilola, Adebayo Faleti, Ireti Osayemi, Bisi Komolafe  to mention but few, showcased what they all know  how to do best.

I think Yoruba movie is going to the next level and the actors are really putting extra effort so that it can stand side by side with other genre of movie in the world.
